Getting started is definitely the most painful part of creating art but I would encourage you to embrace the simplest of ideas and take the idea on a journey. As we get older, the tendency is to edit our thought process to the point of telling ourselves that those ideas are not "good" or "valid". In art, everything goes--the beauty is in the process--how does the mind work to come up with ideas. One of the things I tell my students all of the time is--when you create a piece of art, you have created something that never existed before this moment. That is pretty cool!
